Getting Started

How do I get started?

All new students start with a $55 New Student Evaluation. Create a free account in our EC Pro portal, then book your evaluation. We'll learn your goals, assess your experience, and recommend the best program for your rider.

How do I book a New Student Evaluation?

Create a free account at our EC Pro portal (redhorsetraining.ecpro.us), then book a New Student Evaluation. Questions? Email [email protected] or call (502) 842-4600.

What is EC Pro?

EC Pro is our online member portal — the hub for everything at Red Horse Training. You use it to book lessons, register for camps and clinics, manage your membership, receive lesson reminders, and handle payments. It's free to create an account.

How do members book lessons?

Active members log into their EC Pro account and book directly from their available lesson type based on their membership. EC Pro also sends automated lesson reminders.

Who Can Ride

Do I need a horse?

No. Red Horse Training provides high-quality, well-trained lesson horses for all Academy riders. You do not need to own a horse to take lessons, join the Academy, or even participate in local shows through our lease program.

Do you teach adults?

Absolutely. Adults are welcome and thrive in our programs. Whether you're returning to horses after years away or starting for the very first time — we have a place for you. We also offer a Red Horse Performance program specifically designed for adult riders with their own horses.

Do you teach beginners?

Yes — beginners are the backbone of our Academy program. Academy Foundations is designed specifically for beginner riders. No experience is required. We start from scratch and build a solid foundation of safety, confidence, balance, and western horsemanship.

What age can children start?

We welcome riders starting at age 4 through our Pony Pals Academy program. Lead-line instruction in a safe, age-appropriate environment. We work with riders of all ages, including adults.

Programs & Showing

Do I have to show?

No. Showing is an opportunity, not a requirement. Many of our riders ride purely for fun, confidence, or the love of horses — and they are just as welcome here as our competitive riders. We celebrate every rider's individual goals.

Do you offer horse shows?

Yes — we offer optional local show opportunities for Academy riders who are ready and interested, particularly through our Academy Performance level and our Lease Program. Our competition focus is on education, confidence, and sportsmanship.

Can I lease a horse?

Yes. Our Lease Program is available to current Academy riders who are ready for the next step. We offer Practice Leases (extra saddle time with an assigned horse) and Competition Leases (for riders interested in local shows). Leasing is by coach recommendation.

What disciplines do you teach?

We teach western riding disciplines including Western Equitation, Ranch Riding basics, Reining basics, Trail Obstacles, Western Horsemanship, Barrel Racing, and Rodeo events. Our focus is on building well-rounded western riders.

Logistics

What should I wear?

Long pants (jeans work great) and closed-toe boots or sturdy shoes. Boots with a small heel are ideal for riding. We provide helmets — you're welcome to bring your own ASTM-certified riding helmet. Avoid open-toed shoes, flip-flops, or sandals.

How do I register for camps?

Log into your EC Pro account, select Events from the main page, choose the camp or clinic you'd like to register for, and complete registration through EC Pro. All camps and clinics are managed through EC Pro.

Do you offer haul-in lessons?

Yes. Haul-in lessons are available through our Red Horse Performance program for riders who have their own horses. New Performance clients begin with a Horse & Rider Evaluation.

What records are required for haul-in horses?

Before bringing a horse onto the property, all haul-in clients must provide: a current negative Coggins test, current vaccination records, and confirmation that the horse is healthy and free of contagious illness. Documentation must be submitted and approved before the horse arrives.
